Our Story

Welcome to Gigi’s Shave Ice! Nestled at the crossroads of dreams and adventures, our truck rolls into your life with a story as vibrant as our flavors. Founded by a duo on the golden brink of retirement, Nick and I have always shared a zest for life and a passion for food that brings people together. Food is not just our passion—it’s our life’s tapestry, rich with memories of family gatherings and the sweet laughter of our grandchildren.

From a young age, Isaiah, our youngest son, would spark our ambition with his cheerful encouragements: “Ma! You need to start selling plates of food. You need to open a restaurant!” His words were not just playful nudges but a clarion call to pursue the dreams we'd shelved for stability. Isaiah, alongside Riley, even fantasized about opening their own ramen restaurant and the stories we could tell about their culinary experiments!

As we both edge towards retirement, the idea of blending our love for travel, food, and community blossomed into Gigi’s Shave Ice. This isn’t just a business; it’s our way of staying young at heart—traveling across the country in our RV, meeting new people, and creating joy, one shaved ice at a time. We’re not just serving up icy treats; we’re weaving the fabric of our family into every aspect of our business.

Gigi's Shave Ice is a celebration of heritage and hope. It's Black-owned, woman-owned, and family-run. Our bus, adorned with playful and heartfelt graphics, represents each of our grandchildren. From the swirl of colors on our truck to the unique flavor in every cup, each detail echoes a story of love and legacy.

But our journey doesn't end here. As we continue to grow, so do our family and our dreams. There's already a special spot reserved on our bus for little Christian, our newest family member, who will soon add her touch to our moving canvas.

Join us on this journey at Gigi’s Shave Ice. Every flavor is a story, and every cup served is a dream fulfilled. We’re not just reliving the dreams of those we’ve loved and lost; we're living our dreams aloud and with laughter for all to share.
